About Us

The Manahoac Bowmen archery club is one of the older archery clubs in Virginia. It was organized in 1953 by a group of six dedicated archers from the Fredericksburg area. The Manahoac name is taken from the Indian tribe that inhabited the area along the Rappahannock River in the counties of Stafford and Spotsylvania prior to the colonization of Virginia.

Manahoac is a member of the Virginia Bowhunters Association (VBA) and is a member club of the Archery Shooters Association (ASA).

We are located on the grounds of the Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Izaak Walton League, 12400 Herndon Rd, Spotsylvania, VA. Meetings are held on the last Thursday of each month, except November and December, 7:30 pm, at our clubhouse.

Membership

Club membership is based on the calendar year and runs from January through December. Membership is open to members of the public. Just come to a regular meeting, pick up an application, and meet the members.
